Privacy Policy

Protecting your privacy is important to the WELS Church Extension Fund.  We want you to understand what information we collect about you and your investments and how we use it. The information you provide us is important to our mission and vital to us in serving your needs as an investor.  The following policy serves as a standard for all WELS Church Extension Fund employees for collection, use, retention and security of nonpublic personal information.

What Information We Collect
We may collect nonpublic personal information about you from sources such as:

  • Directly from you, both orally when we have direct discussions with you and through forms that we ask you to fill out. Sometimes you provide us nonpublic personal information in the form of e-mails, letters, and other documents.
  • Through your transactions with us, our affiliates or others.
  • Through our Church Extension Fund website.
  • Through other means.

Nonpublic personal information” is information about you that we obtain in providing you with, and administering, your investments in the WELS Church Extension Fund. For example, nonpublic personal information includes information regarding your investment balance and securities transactions.  This information may include your name, address, e-mail address, social security number and bank or credit union account number. 

The WELS Church Extension Fund holds all nonpublic personal information from you in confidence.  We use this information only to carry out our responsibilities to investors – such as keeping proper records of investors’ holdings, investment transactions, interest payments and related matters.  We may use nonpublic personal information to contact you electronically or by other means, to maintain and store this information through the use of identifying items, and to perform financial transactions as requested on your behalf.

Information We Disclose
We will not disclose any nonpublic personal information about our investors to any nonaffiliated third party except as permitted or required by law.  For example, we may disclose nonpublic personal information to a third part that is providing essential services to us and who is contractually obligated to maintain the confidentiality and security of the information; or to law enforcement personnel pursuant to proper authority.

Confidentiality and Security
We also take commercially reasonable steps to safeguard investor information. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with our professional standards to guard your nonpublic personal information.   Our employees are allowed to access nonpublic personal information for business purposes only and are subject to discipline if they violate this policy. 

The above policy applies to all current investors and former investors.
